I am Ed Barlow, a web designer in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. I have just finished a degree in Design for Interactive Media at the University of Portsmouth.

The course I took was based more around the conceptual than a traditional web design course. Rather than just learning the technical side of web development, we were also expected to come up with creative solutions to briefs, and create interactive user experiences, rather than simple websites.

I enjoy working with actionscript and in flash, as they allow me to create more interactive pieces for the web - things which people will want to use, rather than things which they will only use if they must.
